Angels

*Your read for tonight*
By SISTERS' PROJECT💞

💎NOTES OF THE CIRCLE OF KNOWLEDGE:

*The Angels and YOU*

Bismillaahir-rahmaanir-raheem

They have a very close relationship with you and are with you from the very beginning until the end of your life and beyond.

Some spend their whole existence in ruku’, and when judgement is called they raise their heads and say:
"Glory be to You, our Lord, we did not worship You in a way befitting Your Majesty."

Believing in them is one of the pillars of emaan.

And...  *they make the most amazing dua’ for you*:

*The Malaa’ikah: the angels*

Once Jibreel ‘alayhi sallam came to the Prophet salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam and asked him about Islam, eman, and ihsan.

“What is eman?” he asked.

Rasulullah salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, Eman is to believe in Allah, in His angels, His books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and the divine decree– the good and the bad thereof.

This week we learn how our belief in the angels can make us more productive inshaAllah!

*Three Reasons Why It’s Important to Talk About the Angels:*

🔹Reflection on the angels demonstrates the Greatness of their Creator.

When you hear that Jibreel can turn a town upside down with the tip of his wing and that the distance from the earlobe to the shoulder of an angel who carries the throne would take 700 years to travel, what do you think? Wow? Amazing? Enormous? Now think about the greatness of their creator. When you hear about the angels, remember Allah the greatest.

🔹Contemplating the angels helps you to be patient.

When we know that angels are praying for us, it encourages us to be steadfast in our religion and to stay motivated to push forward.

🔹Pondering the angels makes your realize your worth.

Even though the angels are righteous and noble, Allah ‘azza wajall told them to prostrate before Adam ‘alayhi sallam and to serve people.

*Be Motivated by the Recording Angels*

The closest angels to you are those on your shoulders, the ones responsible for recording all your deeds, good and bad. These are the “honourable scribes” (kiraaman kaatibeen).

Allah ‘azza wajall says:
But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you, Kiraaman (honourable) kaatibeen— writing down (your deeds). [al-Infitaar 82:10-11]

🔸Productivity tip:
Imagine you had a tape recorder on both shoulders and every time you glorified Allah you would get one dollar and each time you spoke evil you would be lashed. Imagine winning 30,000 dollars at the end of the day! The angels are recording everything you say, do, intend, or cause (good and bad), and the stakes are much, much higher with Allah!

🔸🔸Extra tip: Evaluate your deeds within short intervals!
When you do a bad deed, the angel in charge (ameer) of the recording angels tells the angel on the left, “Wait, don’t write it down— he or she might repent.” A hadeeth mentions that we are given six hours (periods of time) to make tawbah, and if we do repent in those six hours, the sin is not even written down!

*Show Off to the Angels*

How many times did you want to show off to someone you respect— to your father, mother, husband, wife, or friends? Show off to the angels and make them send nothing but the best report to your Lord!

Angels take turns around you, some at night and some by day, and all of them assemble together at the time of the Fajr and Asr prayers. Then those who have stayed with you throughout the night ascend to Allah, Who asks them, and He knows the answer better than they about you, ‘How have you left My servants?’ They reply, ‘As we have found them praying, we have left them praying.’ [Al-Bukharee]

*Who of Mankind Loves You the Most?*

At this moment, angels are with us, looking, listening, and writing. A question for you: Who from the people around you loves you the most? And if they really love you, what do they do? They make duaa’ for you! Can you believe that the greatest of Angels make duaa’ for you? An amazing duaa’ which even your father, mother, or most beloved person is not even making for you.

The huge, honorable angels, selected for the duty for nothing less than to carry the throne of The Allmighty, make this amazing duaa’ for the believers. An ultimate duaa’ for your productivity. Strive and make sure you are one of them.

Look at these mind-blowing ayaat from Surah Ghafir (40):

Those (angels) who bear the Throne (of Allah) and those around it glorify the praises of their Lord, and believe in Him, and ask forgiveness for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah) (saying): “Our Lord! You comprehend all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your Way, and save them from the torment of the blazing Fire!
Our Lord! And make them enter the ‘Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens) which you have promised them, and to the righteous among their fathers, their wives, and their offspring! Verily, You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

And save them from (the punishment, because of what they did of) the sins, and whomsoever You save from (the punishment, because of what they did of) the sins (i.e. excuse them) that Day, him verily, You have taken into mercy.” And that is the supreme success. [Surah Ghafir, ayaat 7-9]

SubhanAllah, look how they start their duaa’:  Our Lord! You comprehend all things in mercy and knowledge. We can learn from this while making duaa’!

*Some Practical Tips on How You Can Make the Beautiful Angels Make Duaa’ For You!*

*1. Make dua for others.*
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam said, The Dua of a person for his Muslim brother in his absence will be answered. At his head there is an angel, and every time he prays for him for something good, the angel who has been appointed to be with him, says, ‘Ameen, may you have likewise.’ [Muslim]

Qadhi Ayaz (rahimahullah) relates, If the Salaf wanted to beseech Allah for something with regards to oneself, then they would supplicate to Allah with the same on behalf of their Muslim brethren because such a supplicate is accepted and the Angel supplicates for the supplicant.

*2. Send Salaat upon the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.*
The Messenger of Allah said, There is no person who sends blessings on me, but the angels send blessings on him so long as he sends blessings on me. So, let the person do a little of that or a lot.[Saheeh al-Jamee]

*3.  Sleep in a state of purity.*
Allah’s Messenger sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam said, Purify these bodies and Allah will purify you. There is no one who sleeps in the state of purity except that an Angel accompanies him for the night. He (the slave of Allah) does not turn his side (during his sleep) except that the Angel says, ‘O Allah, forgive your slave because he slept in a state of purity.’[At Tabarani in Al-Awsat]

*4. Spend for a good cause.*
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam said, Every day two angels descend from heaven and one of them says, ‘O Allah! Compensate every person who spends in Your Cause,’ and the other (angel) says, ‘O Allah! Destroy every miser.’[Saheeh Bukharee] Remember, this is not just money, but any good deed with your body, soul, wealth, or time!

*5. Visit your ill brothers or sisters.*
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa-sallam said, There is no man who visits a sick person in the evening, but seventy thousand angels go out with him, and pray for his forgiveness until the morning, and he will have provision in Paradise. And whoever goes to him in the morning, seventy thousand Angels go with him, and they pray for forgiveness for him until the evening, and he will have provision in Paradise. [Sunan Abi Dawood]

*What is Our Duty to the Angels?*

It is to believe in them and respect them in the manner they deserve. SubhanAllaah, think about this: when you’re committing a sin, these beautiful, noble angels feel ashamed writing them down.

☝🏻May Allah ‘azza wajall make us of those who remember Him often and of those who reflect on the creation of the Angels while being patient, thankful, and hard-working to benefit from their beautiful service! Ameen.

Evil eye

Must-read for each Muslim:

🛡 *EVIL EYE:*
*DAILY PROTECTION PLAN!*

Bismillaahir-rahmaanir-raheem

Find in these notes:
🔹What is al-'ayn?
🔹The difference between the evil eye & jealousy
🔹The effect of the evil eye
🔹HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN DAILY PROTECTION PLAN

*Introduction*
It is real and you need to know about  it, because it can greatly affect both your physical and spiritual productivity. What is it?
It is the evil eye.

Be motivated to renew and get re-connected to your daily life protection as most of us have been slacking too much, and the harm is clear.

*Proof in the Qur'an*
Allah 'azza wa jall says:
And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, ‘Indeed, he is mad.’ [Quran,68:51]
So the evil eye is real? Yes!

The  Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said:
The evil eye is real, and if anything were to overtake the divine decree (al-qadar) it would be the evil eye [Muslim]

Let’s learn about the meaning of the evil eye and focus on ways to protect yourself and your productivity in shaa Allah by making your own Daily Protection Plan!

*What is the evil eye?*
The concept of al-‘ayn in Islam (translated as the evil eye) refers to when a person harms another with his eye. It starts when the person likes a thing, then his evil feelings affect it by means of his repeated looking at the object of his jealousy.

It’s not for nothing that Allah 'azza wa jall taught His Prophet to seek refuge with Him from the evil of the envier in a surah you should use yourself for protection: Wa min sharri haasidin idhaa hasad— And from the evil of the envier when he envies . . . [Quran, 113:5]

*So what is the difference between the evil eye and jealousy (envy)?*
Everyone who puts the evil eye on another is envious, but not every envier puts the evil eye on another. The word haasid (envier) is more general in meaning than the word ‘aa’in (one who puts the evil eye on another), so seeking refuge with Allah from the one who envies includes seeking refuge with Him from the one who puts the evil eye on another. The evil eye is like an arrow which comes from the soul of the one who envies and the one who puts the evil eye on another towards the one who is envied and on whom the evil eye is put; sometimes it hits him and sometimes it misses. If the target is exposed and unprotected, it will affect him, but if the target is cautious and armed, the arrow will have no effect and may even come back on the one who launched it  [Ibn al Qayyim, Zaad al-Ma’aad].

⚔Imagine walking around daily without having used supplications nor ayaat of the Quran to protect yourself - would you like being a completely exposed and unprotected target?
No! Yet how many of us daily take action to protect ourselves?

*The effect of the evil eye*
Let’s take an incident from the seerah to realize the effect of the evil eye. The Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam came out and traveled towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharaar in al-Jahfah. There Sahl ibn Haneef did ghusl, and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. ‘Aamir ibn Rabee’ah, one of Banu ‘Adiyy ibn Ka’b looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: “I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin,” and Sahl fell to the ground.

They went to Messenger of Allah and said, “O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allaah he cannot raise his head.” He said, “Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?” They said, “ ‘Aamir ibn Rabee’ah looked at him.” So the Messenger of Allaah  called ‘Aamir and rebuked him strongly. He said, “Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him.”

Then he said to him, “Wash yourself for him.” So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izaar (lower garment) in the vessel. Then that water was poured over him, and a man poured it over his head and back from behind. He did that to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him
[Ahmad, An-Nasaa’i and others]

This was the effect of someone admiring another without praying for blessings for the person. It shows that al-‘ayn can make you seriously ill!

*How to?*
🛡 *YOUR DAILY PROTECTION PLAN*🛡

What is better, prevention or cure?
Here are 6 actions to take to PREVENT the evil eye from harming you. Follow up each action point and you'll have your Daily Protection Plan ready, inshaa'Allah!

🔷 *1. Use al-mu’awwidhatayn and Surah Ikhlaas with the right intention.*

This means the two surahs for seeking refuge, which are the last two chapters of the Quran: surah Al-Falaq and surah An-Naas.
Awadha (عوذ) means 'he refuged' and both surahs are in fact two supplications that begin with:
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord . . .

However, key is to recite them with a strong intention for them to truly protect you.
How many of us rattle them off without truly 'feeling' they are a protection for us.
🗡It's like putting a sword in someone's hand who doesn't even bother to use it, or just holds it weakly. Imagine holding that sword with strength and conviction!

So next time you recite them, do so with a strong conviction they are an actual supplication and protection for you.

Ibn Al-Qayyim said that “the effectiveness of these surahs is great to repel magic, evil eye, and the rest of the evils and *the need for a slave to seek Allah’s protection from these two surahs is greater than his need for self, eating, drinking, and wearing dress* [Al-Fawwaid]

🔶 *Action point:*
*Next time I recite Surah Al Falaq and Surah An Naas, I do so with the right intention and with conviction!*

🔷 *2. Recite Surah Al-Ikhlaas, Al-Falaq, and An-Naas three times in the morning and evening.*

The Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
Recite ‘Qul Huwallaahu Ahad’ and ‘Mu'awwidhatayn’ when you enter the evening and when you wake up in the morning three times and it will protect you from everything.
(At-Tirmidhee # 3575), Abu Dawood (# 5084).

🔶 *Action point:*
*I will recite Surah Al Ikhlaas, Al Falaq and An-Naas 3 times each after fajr (in the morning) and 3 times in the evening and I will gain protection and the great reward of reviving a sunnah, in shaa Allah!*
Remember to recite with conviction.

🔷 *3. Blow these surahs over your body before you go to sleep.*

Aisha radiyallahu ‘anha narrated that whenever Allah’s Messenger went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting surah Al-Ikhlaas, surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face, and front of his body. He used to do that three times. [Al-Bukhaaree]

Start teaching this habit to your children from their early years and it will be an amazing sadaqah jaariyah for you!

🔶 *Action point:*
*Each night before I go to sleep I will:*
*- Cup my hands together*
*- Recite Surah Al Ikhlaas, Al Falaq and An-Naas in them*
*- Blow in them with a little saliva*
*- Then rub my hands over my head, face, front of my body and whatever I can reach.*
*- I will repeat this three times (so 3x each Surah in total)*

🔷 *4. Say a’oodhu bi kalimaatillaahit-taammaati min sharri maa khalaq.*

The Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
Whosoever says at nightfall: أعوذ بكلمات الله التامات من شر ما خلق -I seek refuge in the complete words of Allah from the evil in what He has created- no harm shall affect him. [Muslim]

This is only takes ten seconds, key is you really make it part of your evening routine!

🔶 *Action point:*
*I will learn how to pronounce this supplication correctly and say it each day after 'asr and before maghrib (the evening) comes in.*

🔷 *5. Protect the children.*
Even though we do everything for our children’s education and future, children can also be affected by the evil eye and we should think about protecting them according to the sunnah! Do you daily recite the dua for protection for (your) children?

The Prophet used to seek refuge for al-Hasan and al-Husayn and say:
أُعِيذُكُمَا بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ ، وَهَامَّةٍ ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ – I seek refuge
for you both in the perfect words of Allah, from every devil and every poisonous reptile, and from every evil eye
U'eedhukumaa bi kalimaatillaahit-taammaah - min kulli shaytaanin wa haammah- wa min kulli 'aynin laammah.
 [At-Tirmidhee, Abu Dawood]

Above is for two children; you can replace u’eedhukumaa (I seek refuge for you both) by: u’eedhuka (for one boy), u’eedhuki (for one girl) or u’eedhukum (for more than three children).

🔶 *Action point:*
*I will memorize this supplication correctly and use it on the children consistently.*
Use a 🗒sticky note in the house/near the door to remember before you leave the house if needed

🔷 *6. Pray for blessings.*

"Oh mashaa'Allah she's so cute!"
"Wow, I love your dress!"
"Unbelievable, their house is sooooo beautiful!"
"Mashaa'Allah he's so clever!"

Although it is correct that the evil eye comes from people who feel jealous (hasad) the scholars explained it can also come from someone who is not jealous but just likes something.

The Prophet salallahu‘ alayhi wa sallam said:
Whoever among you sees something in himself or in his possessions or in his brother that he likes, let him pray for blessing for it, because the evil eye is real.
 [Ibn al-Sunni , al-Haakim]

It is even possible to harm yourself, your wealth or a loved one! Think of your own children, husband, parents and relatives.
❗Don't only protect yourself from the evil eye- also protect others from your evil eye!

It is recommended to say: Allahumma baarik feehu, feeha or feehi ( O Allah, bless him, her or it) or the like. The simplest general way to pray for blessings of both people and objects is to say:
Allahumma baarik.

Next time you see something nice someone has, or even seeing the beauty of your children or spouse, pray for blessings for them. This also means it is ok to like something someone has and want it for yourself; as long as you don’t wish that thing is taken away from the person and you make sure you pray for blessings for them!

🔶 *Action point:*
*Pray for blessings and say: 'Allahumma baarik'!*

❕IMPORTANT NOTE:
*'Saying 'mashaa'Allah'*

Saying Mashaa’Allah laa quwatta illaa billaah is not necessarily related to the evil eye.
The hadith that was reported from Anas ibn Maalik radiyallahu‘ anhu
saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ  said: Whoever sees something that he likes, and says, ‘Ma sha Allaah laa quwwata illa Billaah’, the evil eye will not affect him is classified as da’eef jiddan (very weak).  Allah 'azza wa jall says: It was better for you to say, when you entered your garden: Mashaa’Allaah laa hawla wa laa quwwatta illaa billaah [Quran, 18:39] This ayah is not related to jealousy, but rather Allah destroyed the man’s garden because of his disbelief and transgression.

❕ *What to do when the harm is done?*

Study ways of treatment from the sunnah.
If the evil is done and someone –or yourself— is already affected by the evil eye, it is crucial to follow the instructions from the sunnah, two examples of these cures are doing ruqyah (reciting certain ayaat and supplications) and if you  know who gave the evil eye, asking that person to wash themselves and pour the water over the affected person. It is strongly recommended to use trustworthy sources to study about these treatments. An example is the book:
📓The world of the jinn and devils by Dr Umar Sulaiman al Ashqar.

🔰 *SUMMARY DAILY PROTECTION PLAN*

✔1. Intention + conviction each time you recite Surah Al Falaq and An-Naas.

✔2. Recite Surah Al Ikhlaas, Al Falaq and An-Naas 3 times in the morning and evening each day.

✔3. Blow them over your body each night (3x)

He is Al'Wadood

💕sana:
Many Muslimahs today find themselves   faced with the challenges of single parenting, either through being widowed or divorced. It is a struggle that can sometimes leave one feeling isolated, dejected, despondent. Some women lose their identity, self worth, purpose in life and battle to keep afloat the murky waters of a turbulent storm.Others cope well, have their private moments with their Lord and the world is blind to their pain, immune to their sadness and oblivious of their struggle.

To those of you who fight silent tears alone each night, longing for the comfort and warmth of a spouse, remember the lonely nights Haajar  AS spent under the stars, devoid of shelter. Her refuge was her Lord. She too must have ached to be held, to be caressed, to know she had someone to share this journey of life with. What must have gone through her mind in the initial moments of isolation? She was human too, but she understood that this sacrifice was essential for something unique and significant to occur.

Today, the entire ummah pays tribute to her and honours her. Have faith my sister in the Lord of the entire universe. Soon you will witness and taste the sweetness of the fruits of your patience.Perhaps through you great works of ilm will be established or you may be honoured with children who are beacons of Islam.

To you Oh Mother who has had to let go of your children...

Imagine how the heart of the mother of Moosa AS  must have shattered into a million fragments as she placed her baby into the river, knowing not what his fate would be, trusting the wisdom and command of Her Lord. But oh dear broken soul, look at how Allah SWT returned him to her, older, wiser and someone who could make her proud. She did not have the responsibility of raising him with fear and hardship, and she still had the privilege of intermittent access to him. From a distance, she could still watch him grow into an honourable young man. The same Allah who cocooned her broken heart, will calm your restless soul and quell your darkest fears. Your tears and sacrifice will not go in vain. Perhaps one day you will be the proud mother of a great scholar, who through your sacrifice, struggle and tears, Allah SWT uses to benefit humanity.

And to you oh sister who shared a passionate and intense bond with your husband,  full of Mawaddah and Rahmah. To you who enjoyed a soul mate and a spouse that completed you perfectly, and lost him due to tragedy, death or some other circumstance.

To you who cannot ever imagine such a relationship ever again. I ask you dear friend to look no further than the example of Umm Salamah RA. A woman just like you and I who enjoyed a perfect relationship with her husband Abu Salamah RA. Who did Allah SWT replace him with?

None other than the best of creation, the Master SAW.

Do you think that the same Allah SWT who loves you 70 times more than your mother will forsake you?

Will reject you?

Will neglect you?

Will abandon you?

He is Al'Wadood. ...The Creator of Love.

Just as He causes the sun to rise after a dark night, so too will He lift your sorrow and sadness.

Turn to Him dear sister.

He listens.

He responds.

He replaces.

He heals.

He honours.

"Verily my prayer, my sacrifice, my life and my death are for Allah alone, the Lord of the Universe." (Quraan 6:162)

no Adhan for the newborn

Answer from Sheikh Khaled Fekry:
baby Athan
All ahadith of doing athan in a new born baby ears are DAEEF (WEAK)
The scholars of Hadith and Fiqh said NOTHING is authentic regarding athan in the newly born ears .

The question from a sister:

what is the Sunnat method of giving Azan in new born baby ears?

and who can give this? what are its requirements?

Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The recitation of Adhan and Iqamah in a new born baby ear is regarded to be Sunnah[1]. The Blessed Nabi Sallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam has performed this act upon Hasan Radiyallahu Anhu. Take the following Hadith into consideration:

سنن أبي داود (5/ 518)دار اليسر

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «أَذَّنَ فِي أُذُنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ حِينَ وَلَدَتْهُ فَاطِمَةُ بِالصَّلَاةِ

Translation: Abu Rafi’ saw Nabi Sallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam perform Azan in the ear of Hasan Radiyallahu Anhu when Fatimah gave birth to him (Abu Dawud V.5 Pg.518 Darul Yusr)

A male family member of the new born child should recite the Azaan and Iqamah upon the child. If a male member is not present then any female member can recite the Azan and Iqamah upon the child, even it be the child’s mother[2].

The procedure of performing Azan and Iqamah in a new born baby’s ears is as follows:

The baby should face towards the Qibla.
The Azan should be recited normally in the right side of the baby’s ear.
The Iqamah should be recited normally in the left side of the baby’s ear[3].
